Who we are

Fineec (Ethical finance and economy for entrepreneurship and trade) is a non-profit association under the French law of 1901, registered in Paris in June 2024. It promotes finance that serves the real economy, without interest or speculation, and makes it understandable to everyone.

The team

Fineec’s members come from finance, higher education and IT. This mix of backgrounds lets us look at each economic and social question from several angles, and propose solutions that take practice into account as much as theory.

Our purpose

To work on information, research and the production of articles on socio-economic topics; to carry out actions and seminars; to offer solutions for an alternative, ethical and sustainable economy serving society.

Our objectives

  • Make economic and financial information accessible to a non-specialist audience.
  • Provide specialist information to an informed audience.
  • Raise awareness among economic actors of economic and financial issues and challenges.
  • Offer alternative financing and investment options to businesses.
  • Contribute to financial education.

The principles of ethical finance

  • No interest (riba): a loan earns the lender nothing. It is a favour, not a trade.
  • No excessive uncertainty (gharar) and no betting (maysir): the object, price and due date of a contract are known when it is signed.
  • No investment in forbidden or harmful activities: alcohol, gambling, weapons, activities that damage the environment.
  • Every operation can be traced: who finances what, and on which terms.

What we do

  • Inform: articles, a glossary and resources to understand economics and finance, from beginners to specialists.
  • Train and discuss: online webinars, the Financial Education Series, open to all and led by practitioners.
  • Work with others: exchanges and projects with associations, researchers and professionals.

In short

  • Non-profit association under the French law of 1901, social and solidarity economy
  • Registered in Paris in June 2024
  • Head office: Paris 17th district
